It does look something like an elephant trunk, but the important thing is that someone put a sign up. I am not sure exactly where this is. I found one reference (and picture) on the Web, calling it just "Elephant Rock", and placing it somewhere in Richland County. I have been informed that it is north of Ithaca on highway 58, near a point that my map called Neptune.
