I don't live too far from Sun Prairie, and Groundhog Day fell on a Saturday this year, so I decided to drive up to see the festivities.
There's an official Sun Prairie Groundhog site if you are interested. These are just my photos. I can't answer any questions about groundhogs or Groundhog Day. Don't ask me.
I spent the night in Sun Prairie, since I didn't trust myself to be able to get there before sunset if I drove from home. I arrived at the chilly outdoor event as a group of children sang to the large crowd.

There were speeches made by happy people on stage.

As usual, I spent most of my time taking candid photographs of the crowd. It was very cold, but all the bundled children seemed to be having a great time.

Yes, I know that last one is not a child.
After the bitterly cold ceremony we all got to go inside. Some of us had to wait a long time to get in the door, but that's what happens when you have such a popular event and so many people stop just inside the door to look around.
There was live music and dancing, featuring this jug band.

The children attentive.

Except this one.

Some kids took advantage of the face painting.

I suspect that I've got another roll of film floating around somewhere, maybe under the seat of my car or something. If it turns up I'll put the photos here.
