Old Boat on Mississippi

I saw this boat on this Illinois side of the Mississippi as I took the Winfield Ferry acroos the river. It doesn't look as if it is still in use, but who knows? I have no idea what its job was. The banks of the Mississippi are littered with abandoned boats and barges.
