Privacy Statement

Server Logs

With the exception of the special situations listed below, no information is collected about visitors to thom.org other than the stuff normally collected by Web servers and stored in their logs, and all that is automatically reported by your browser every time you visit any Web page.

This information is used only for aggregate statistical information about the use of the site. No attempt will be made to identify individual visitors.

For example, this information is used to determine the popularity of specific pages, which sites are linking to which pages, and how many visitors we get.

Cookies

Cookies are just information that a Web server stores on your computer that your browser gives back to the server the next time you visit. Cookies aren't programs and they can't do anything.

The only place this site uses cookies is on the What's New page. The current date is stored so that it can be used to generate the page the next time you visit. This information is used only to generate the page and is not stored or used in any other way.

Advertisers may use cookies in association with banner advertisement. You should check their privacy policy for details.

Email Addresses

Your email address is only used two places on this site, and you have to type it in each time:
  1. Feedback. If you type your email address into the feedback form, it will be sent along with the contents of the form. It will only be used to reply to your questions and comments. It will not be used to send advertisements or announcements, and it will never be provided to anyone else. You can leave feedback without providing your email address, but you obviously won't get a reply.
  2. Virtual Postcards. If use the virtual postcard feature to send a message to someone, both your email address and theirs will be stored in a database and used to send an announcement and display the card. These email addresses will not be provided to anyone else and will not be used to send any message other than the one card announcement.

Conclusion

That's it. In brief, we don't really care who you are, and you won't get any email from us unless you ask us a question or a friend sends you one of our virtual postcards.
